The owner

With over 21 years of dedicated experience in the boating and marine industry, Mitch Dohman has built a career rooted in craftsmanship, leadership, and a deep respect for the vessels and people he serves. He began on the shop floor, mastering boat-building techniques, materials, and hands-on construction before advancing into leadership and project management roles—overseeing complex builds and repairs from concept through completion.

Most recently, Mitch led operations at KKMI in Sausalito, one of the largest and most respected high-end boat yards in the Bay Area (now part of Safe Harbor). That experience gave him a rare, end-to-end understanding of the entire vessel lifecycle—from design and fabrication to structural integrity, finishing, and long-term performance.

Now, after years of managing large-scale operations, Mitch is bringing that same level of expertise and care to the Austin Hill Country. He is launching his own luxury boat concierge and full-service business with a simple goal: to give boat owners the peace of mind and personalized support that high-end service should deliver. His practical knowledge, meticulous attention to detail, and genuine commitment to quality make him a trusted partner for owners who want their boats handled with the same pride he has brought to every project throughout his career.

  • "As a lifelong sailor and boater, and someone who's owned many boats over the last 40+ years, simply put- there's no one I'd trust more to take care of my boats than Mitch Dohman. His skill and knowledge of every facet of boat repair and care is difficult to replicate. He was able to manage one of the busiest and best boatyards in the San Francisco Bay thanks to his many positive traits: deep knowledge, wide experience, great work ethic, integrity, high intelligence, and a winning personality. The Austin boating public is fortunate to have Mitch operating in the Austin area. There's no better or more trustworthy guy to take care of your vessel."

    — Kirk Denimbein, A35 “Mirthmaker”

  • "Mitch is the person you want when something needs fixing—bringing real technical skill along with honesty, patience, and pride in his work. He’s handled a wide range of projects for me, including mechanical repairs, painting, detailing, fiberglass deck and core repair, and a major fuel tank repair and replacement. In every case, Mitch took the time to understand the issue, clearly explain the solution, and complete the work to an immaculate standard. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for someone they can trust with their boat."

    — Alan Baron, 1994 50’ Bertram "Centavo", 2002 21’ Sanger, V210 Black Scorpion

  • "If you want a flawless, full-boat solution, Mitch is the absolute best in the business. For the past decade, he has supervised the haul-outs for both my competitive one-design racing sailboat and our family powerboat on the San Francisco Bay. Our racing campaign literally could not function without his attention to detail. Mitch is a rare talent who can fix anything—saildrives, driveshafts, rigging, refrigeration, and HVAC. He delivers complete peace of mind, and while we deeply miss his presence on the Bay, we cannot thank him enough for keeping us safely on the water!

  • "I’d like to provide a huge endorsement for Mitch Dohman. I have owned and pampered sailboats for decades. I currently own a J-100 in San Francisco, and a Swan 51 in Canada. I have an investment in a boatyard in Canada, experience in the industry, and a great appreciation for what it takes to provide excellent marine service. Every time I interacted with Mitch he provided complete confidence, thorough management and excellent results. I received what he said I would receive, when he said I would. He has great knowledge of the domain, and a commitment to managing the details."

    -Tom Hutton (J-100, H-Pod)

  • "I had the pleasure of working with Mitch for over five years, and throughout that time he was always someone I could count on. Mitch is a true man of his word—reliable, knowledgeable, and someone who genuinely cares about the people and boats he works with. One experience that has always stuck with me was when I had a boat that started taking on water after hours. Without hesitation, Mitch stepped up and arranged for a team to come out and help get the boat safely out of the water with the Travelift. That kind of dedication and willingness to help when it really mattered says a lot about the kind of person he is. Mitch works with his heart on his sleeve, and there isn’t a doubt in my mind he wouldn’t extend that level of truly exceptional service and care to your family boat. He knows what matters and automatically prioritizes your needs before you even know you need it. I’m incredibly excited to see him start his own business, and I have no doubt that his experience, integrity, and commitment will make him extremely successful. I can’t imagine a better person to have looking after your boat."

    -Michelle Resner

  • "I had the pleasure of working with Mitch for ten years as the project manager for my Dehler 38, and I can't recommend him highly enough. He was my go-to person for everything from routine maintenance to complex repairs and upgrades, and he brought a level of expertise and care that's genuinely hard to find. What set Mitch apart was how deeply he understood my boat. He became a true expert on how Hanse built my Dehler 38 in Germany, which meant he could diagnose issues quickly and track down the right parts — or smart equivalents — without the usual back-and-forth. As a single-handed sailor himself, Mitch brought real insight to the rigging upgrades we tackled together, helping me reconfigure my setup so the boat became noticeably easier to sail shorthanded. When we faced a complex collision repair, he managed it seamlessly and got the boat back in the water in record time. And when the engine failed—even though the work wasn't performed at his yard—his counsel helped me navigate a difficult set of decisions with confidence. Mitch is the kind of person you want in your corner when you care about how your boat performs and looks. I'll miss working with him, and I'd recommend him without hesitation to any sailor looking for a project manager who treats their boat like it's his own."

    - Rachad Youssef (Dehler 38)

  • "Mitch inspected my speed boat and quickly identified a coolant leak on the engine. He took the time to clearly explain the issue and walk me through exactly how to address it, which was especially helpful since the boat is currently stored at a yard that includes repair service with my storage fee. Because of Mitch’s guidance, I was able to give the repair technician precise instructions on what needed to be done. His knowledge and clear advice saved me time and gave me real peace of mind. Highly recommend his expertise."

    -Steve Zad

  • "I first met Mitch when he was working at another boatyard. His extensive experience, dedication, and strong work ethic quickly earned my trust in his judgment. He understands boat engineering, boat repair, and boat care. His estimates were accurate, and his invoices were always fair. I would not hesitate to recommend Mitch or entrust him with work on any vessel."
